I was looking to purchase a quad tuner Digibit R1 box. However it seems like it has been discontinued. Is there any equivalent box that has a quad tuner and creates a m3u file that I can use to distribute over IP around my home.
I currently have an Android based vbox which works but I find that recordings keep getting interrupted so was looking for a box with better turners. The Digibit R1 seems to fit the bill but I can't find one to buy anywhere so was hoping there was a more recently manufactured box with the same features.

Shame it doesn't have quad tuners.
Does it produce an m3u playlist or do you have to use Tvheadend?

I run it to TVH. TVH looks after everything else. No messing around with recompiling drivers which is a big plus. TVH server/client on a RockPro64 running LE. Everything neat and tidy too.

I don't want to have to introduce TVH unless I have to. My Vbox produces an M3U file that I can pass to my channels Dvr Server so I don't need TVH. That's why I was hoping to get the Digibit R1

Other than exposing two DVBS tuners on your LAN there’s no other configuration that can be carried out on on the Digibit Twin. It was exactly what I required. From what I can see the R1 was discontinued. The Twin was great value at €65 too. The R1 was considerably more expensive at €250+ when it was on sale.

Ah might be because you are in Ireland, B word issues, again :(

Yeah I'm in Ireland. Good old Brexit I'd say.
Very expensive listening. They were about €130 on amazon before

Gigablue have a quad tuner E2 receiver but I am not sure if it can output an m3u file for local streaming?
There might be an E2 plugin or something in the E2 webif that could stream across a home LAN?

Copy of message just received from Telestar confirming they no longer produce the Digibit R1.......

All the OP has to do is supply an address in Northern Ireland and it can be forwarded from there. That’s the Northern Ireland protocol for ya. Here’s a link to a business that’s doing it daily UK / Northern Ireland Delivery Address

Normally Amazon UK will show the item in stock but delivery not available to your area. That link that was posted showed both stock available and not available. Very odd indeed. I wonder if Amazon UK changed their policy of showing stock not available to customers with a Southern Ireland IP address.

Just use the Northern Ireland mailing address BT35 8SQ on that Amazon link posted above. It will allow you to complete your purchase. Make sure you register first with this service, make your purchase on Amazon and your R1 will be delivered to them and they in turn will forward it to you

At least I now know why one member was showing availability on Amazon UK while another was not.

Have you a link to buy?

Thanks I will use that service for other purchases but that price is more than double the price it was listed so I won't be purchasing.

I'm looking for a sat>ip device with quad tuners that exposes an m3u. Does anyone know if a list of such devices exist?

There’s plenty out there. What price range are you talking about. The R1 option is probably the best route to go price wise.

The Kathrein range would probably be the next option to look at but you are heading into the pro range and they don’t come cheap.

Some of the Asian STBs have sat>ip built in but are probably a bit flaky at the best of times.

I’ll be surprised if you find any alternatives to the R1 if price is a consideration for you.
