I have a grundig gds3000. It works fine 75% of the time. At certain times the picture stutters and artifacts appear, freezes and a blue background appears with "no satelite signal being received" comes on the screen. I have noticed that this happens mainly in the afternoon ( 3pm to 6:30pm gmt and rarely happens in the evening. Any ideas?

Oh, and sometimes if I wait a minute or two the picture stutters back, works ok for a bit then dies again. This may do this for hours. I have tried switching off, waiting, switching on, waiting etc etc. Sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn't. This machine is very tempremental at times.

Sounds like the clasic Grunfig power supply problem, you can get the capacitor kit and repair it yourself, or send yours off to someone like MCES and they will send you a refurbished one for £16 plus vat.

I'm mid staffs UK. The faulty PSU sounds likely, but why does it go at certain times?

Could be when it is warmest. Have you tried it on another dish by the way, or asnother receiver on your dish?

Not tried anything yet. Think I'm going to post the psu off to MCES. for£18 all in it's not a bad start. Thanks for the replies,

I would try the digibox on a known good dish first, as the GDS 3000 is a fairly new model to have capacitor problems. ;)
