Digibox & Sky subscription

I got a Digibox off eBay and it works fine with my Sky Freesat card. However, I'd now like a "real" subscription. Am I allowed to ask Sky for this "real" subscription on my current Digibox (which probably someone else used years ago)? I phoned them and they said they didn't know but I didn't insist as I didn't want to lose my working freesat card.
So does anyone know if Sky, or some Sky official dealer, would be able to help me? Also, if dealers are reading this forum, contact me.
 
Why not apply for a new subscription and get a brand new faster box free?

Then you can use the other box elsewhere in your house.

Or for £89 you could get a Sky+ box.
