Hi,

I am new to this forum and new to sat systems in general (being a Sky user for the last 10 years properly does not count). Anyway, now living in Zagreb, Croatia where we can recieve a Sky signal fine (no BBC or ITV though) which is a problem for the RBS 6 nations. I am thinking of purchasing the DigitalALB service, but am not sure which reciever is best. A brief search through some sites indicates the TM5400 would be a good choice, but I need to be certain it will work with the DigitalALB card. Can anyone out there help please? Have 1 day to order the system and 1 day to install it for the next round of matches! (4 day delivery time)
Thanks
Karl

Any Technomate with Multicrypt card reader should be ok, also Phoenix Apollo's & Manhattans should also be ok with MC card reader.

If you connect a simple free to air satellite receiver (DV:cool: to your sly dish you should be able to view the BBC interactive streams on 12441V. This covers all the 6 nations as well as England football internationals, snooker, Wimbledon tennis etc.
Think about what type of box you buy as a simple FTA receiver will suit your needs now but maybe you want to upgrade later. Boxes with C.I. (common Interface) slots are usually best if you want to upgrade later.
An Illusion M3S are cheap receivers with a built in card slot for Conax so if you go for Digitalb in the future you can connect the dish and the card will work in it. Technomate recievers are a little more expensive but can be patched for upgrades.
Simple FTA receivers should start at about 80 Euro.
You can take the single feed from the dish into the FTA receiver and use the output of the FTA box (most have them) to your sky box. As long as you have the FTA box switched off (on standby) the sly box should work ok. When you want the BBC on, switch off the sly box and put on the FTA box. Doing it this way will save you having to swap leads about or having to fit a twin LNB.

Good luck

P.S if you go for a simple FTA receiver you could probably get locally and avoid the 4 day delivery.
Also I don´t think Digitalb are showing the Rugby anyway!!!

Thanks for the advice so far. I thought DigitalALB showed the SuperSport channels (from SA???) and they appear to be showing the Rugby. Please correct me if I am wrong as this is urgent. Thanks Karl

Digitalb is Supersport 1 to 5. Look on lj football and is listed as "digitalb Supersport 1 to 5"

The one you are looking at is South Aftica. No chance of picking up where you are.

Go for the BBC Interactive

I would have thought that an 80/90cm dish pointed at Astra 28.2 East should do it, won't get you the main BBC and ITV channels of course, you will need a much bigger dish for those.

You can't as Saturday 3pm kick offs are not being shown in DigitAlb, whether they will do at some point in the future is unknown.
