Digitalb card left on Super Sport 1 ?

My Satellite Setup
1M Dish with Motek 2100,
DM 500 & DM 800HD, Vu+ Duo,
Digital+, Sky+, TDT, Saorview
My Location
Dublin
Do I need to leave the card in the box permanently and turned on to update or can I just use the card when I want ? Presume I must leave it there.

Once activated it only should need to be returned for updates, check the card information using your receivers menu options.
 
Its says sept 09 - sept 10 in the info page.
 
It looks like it has been activated so can now be used as other subscription cards.
 
Does that mean I can turn that box off while I am using another box but ? I am thinking it wont update then if I only plug it in a couple of times a week.
 
You don't have to have a receiver turned on all the time to get the card updated, even with Sky, once the card has been activated it should be fine.
If you are worried check with your supplier that the card has been fully activated, for all the channels you have subscribed to, and check if it ever needs to be updated during the subscription period.
Are you using the card with the official receiver, to get the HD channels?
 
No I am using it in a Darkbox. I picked up a Dream 500s yesterday and wonder will it work in that because that is the receiver which I want to use primarily from now on as oppoosed to the darkbox.
 
It should do providing you load the right software, the Dreambox seems capable of reading most cards, including the new Sky white card, check the Dreambox section to see if anyone else is using a DigitAlb card.​
