FWIW, several years ago, I raised the question of how much the ability of an Rx to specifically define very accurately the "requested orbital position" of a sat under USALS because the likes of my old TM 5402-
M3 can (at least theoretically!) define that position to two decimal places (e.g. to "0.01" degrees, as opposed to "0.1" degrees) and actually affect the received Signal Level & SQ, whereas most modern Rx's can only do that to 0.1 deg, but, IIRC, no one came back without any real "answer" as to the "importance of the difference". Has the answer to that question ever been resolved?
OTOH, the STAB dish motor in question here seems to have a much "bigger" inherent backlash isssue!
