it's a golden interstar i can't lock to the weak signals even when i tight it.

A DiseqC motor won't last long on that size of dish. Stick to a polar mount/actuator combo.

Welcome to the forum BTW.

A polarmount and actuator should be much more stable than a DiSEqC motor on a dish that size, as Llew says, the dish is really too big for a DiSEqC motor anyway.

Can you upload some pictures of your dish and mount?

Also as the motor/pulse cables are presumably still in place, with means to drive the dish through them, I would consider it a retrograde step to downgrade to DiseqC steering.

Most DiSEqC Motors are specified for no more than 1.2m

And that is pushing it a bit, unless the Dish is Aluminium and in a sheltered location.

For anything bigger, forget it!

It might be worth waiting for the replacement of the jaeger 1224 h-h motor 36v(no longer made) when its available. this would handle the dish size and be more stable than a worn polar mount.

here's the polar mount it's a diseq version from golden interstar .
and it's the only make i have ever used. but the actuator is driven by a 36v box. because the diseq sounded to me that is struggling.
thanks guys for the quick response.

Actually on looking at your polarmount, a DiseqC motor probably would be better, it's a bit flimsy, particularly when combined with the flimsyness of the azel bracket on the dish. :)

You may need to put a sleeve on the pole and extend by a foot though, as a forward mount DiSEqC motor would probably be too low.

Most of them are good motors, but not really suitable for your dish. It is only because it is low down and sheltered that DiSEqC mounting can be contemplated.

hi
i will extend the ground pole up a foot that is not a problem . apart from that i am just wondering if the diseq will be suitable for a long term
specially the one mentioned above.
thanks for your response.

As said above, any DiSEqC motor is not really suitable, whether it lasts a while will depend on many factors, but as they are not particularly expensive, you'll have to suck it and see.
