Hi guys,

I'm looking for a DiseQC 1.3 motor for my "new" Channel Master 1.2m.
Is there good motor for this size?

Personally with the weight of a CM 1.2 dish, I wouldn't entertain putting it on a Diseqc motor. You really need something much stronger. A 36v system is needed here.

Indeed. This despite most DiSEqC motors being specified for "up to 1.2m". Weight varies, of course, depending upon the material used to construct the dish. Then there's storm resilience to consider.

I had Triax TD110 on one and, although it survived, I always got anxious when the wind blew, and had to fettle various clamps rather too frequently.

With proper design and execution ... no problem. Optibox DM3800S used.

When you say DiseQC 1.3, which Eutelsat protocol is your receiver capable of ?

not only weight...size also.
i know from experience, when i had my Laminas 1.2 (a lightweight dish) - in high winds, no matter how tight i made it, it always ended up rotating on the motor stub, gradually degrading signal across the arc.
you could try a rubber coating on the stub, so the teeth bite into it more - but in the end i went 36v and would never go back to those DISEqC\USALS motors whatever they're called.

i wonder if its still there...
You can design it all you want to, but no way will a Diseqc motor survive a good storm unless it's very, very sheltered..with a CM 1.2.

My Gibby 1.2m survived for a number of years on a Moteck 2100 motor - but it was in a sheltered location at ground level.

I have had my 1.2 Gibby on a tm diseqc motor for 14 years (garden mounted) and still going strong.

But would not put a 1.2 CM on one, far to heavy.

Ok, I already have 36v motor with the CM but no box to control it.
So using a DiseQC motor seems to be simple than 36v IMO ( only 1 cable, smaller ...)
Vu+ Duo receiver mainly used for this antenna, Atlas Hd200s sometimes, both are ok with diseqc and usual
