Dear all,

I have a German Skymaster DXS 5 Digital Satellite receiver.

I have got an 80 dish, with one LNB set on Astra 19.2 and a second LNB set on Astra 28.2. I have done the setup via a DiSEqC switch - that's what I've been told to do. Astra 28.2 is brilliant. However, I don't receive anything from Astra 19.2 - it says "no signal". I use a DiSEqC 2X1 SAT SWITCH and universal LNBs.

Does anyone of you have an idea what might be wrong with the switch/the LNBs or else?

All ideas and help are very much appreciated!

Thanks!

If you connect direct to the 19.2 LNb, does it work properly?

What are your settings in the DiSEqC menu and which LNB is the main focus and which the offset?

Yes it works properly if I connect direct to the 19.2 LNb. First I thought the caxial cale might be broken but I have tried a second one and it does not work either.

The main focus is on the 19.2 LNb, the offset is 28.2 . The menu of the receiver says that 19.2 is on connection 1 (connection A on the DISEqC switch). The second LBn (on 28.2) is on connection 2 (connection B on the DISEqC switch).

and how do you have it connected?

What do you mean?

It is connected from the LNBs to the Switch with a coax cables and one coax goes from the switch to the receiver.

Obvious question I know, but is it actually connected like that.

I have just checked an it semms like it is connected like that. I wouldn't be able to watch 28.2 if it wasn't. What do you think?

mmm, well it doesn't make sense then really, either the receiver isn't sending out the correct Diseqc command or the switch is dodgy, assuming that everything else you said is correct.

You could test a bit further, by swapping the wires over and the Diseqc command.

I really don't know what went wrong. I think it must be the receiver because I tried all possibilities.

Anyway, what we did. My husband found a receiver in the store room (we got two when we bought the satellite dish) and simply set up two receivers, one LBN in each. That works for us. I have bought the switch for nothing. Yet I might need it again sometime.

Thanks a lot for your help!

Did you have the switch at the receiver end?
It should be at the dish end.
