does anyone know what the clamps are called that go through the motor clamp, onto the pole - andm if you can buy them as spares?

one side of my darkmotor clamp sheered off when i was undoing nut yesterday - luckily i had a spare motor...not sure if TM2600 and DarkMotor brackets are the same... they look it, should have checked before erecting new motor

TM2600 and Dark motors use a similar clamp though the brackets and plates are different.

TM parts rust a bit quicker but from memory have a higher carbon content so they clamp better on the pole.

Post measurements of the good one you have.

An image of old and the replacement might give somebody an idea.

Same thing happened to me with a Darkmotor with the square uboltd despite lots of release agent and been greased from new with copper slip. Even used the undo and tighten method both snapped made of cheese.

I made some from stainless m8 threaded bar i picked up cheap took 2 attempts to get the dimensions correct as the bar stretches when bending it.

Using a vice and a blow touch to get the bar as hot as possible where i intended to bend it was the method i used, quickly quenching it in cold water after the bend.

Third attempt went well as id sussed out the amount of stretch caused when bending by then. Both stainless now so should be fine in future if i need it down.

im surprised they're not available as spare parts, - seem to be same as tehcnomate 2600 brackets - dont actually need it anymore, as ive gone 36v - but it renders a motor useless with only one bracket so cannot sell it in current form.

i might be able to get a damaged motor somewhere for free on facebook or somewhere - and nick the bracket

There are a couple of pictures of U-bolts I made, I think they can hold better than just bent threaded rod. In addition, if there is a need, after the antenna is perfectly tuned the bolt can be inserted through the plate to the pipe in this way secure the antenna from movement left/right.

I have some "scrap metal" lying around, if somebody needs it you can have it for a price of shipping.

I dont feel they would be ideal behind/in front of the Darkmotors elevation bracket as they pull at the sides offering no structural support around the back the bracket will warp, the whole point of the square ubolt is it pulls from the side and evenly across the back of the elevation bracket also. Keeping it more stable and helping to stop it warping.

as they pull at the sides
I do not see it possible as there is thick steel plates from other side. OK, this is not Darkmotor, but I think it is possible to improve very much standard fixings.

I dont see how it fits you literally have 8/10mm space without blocking the motor elevation adjustment.

Look at the motor bracket in your picture titled scrap metal above, can you honestly say your clamps wont foul the motor elevation adjustment ?

Perhaps there could be another solution if there is an issue. Bolts can be inserted from the motor side and nuts from the back.

I see that the problematic item here is just a U-bolt which needs to be replaced. But very important to have those bolts at exact size, as different motors have different mounting plates. On the picture, one has 86mm between centers of the rods, the other one 90mm. Also, the length of the threaded part can be important. Some motors have U-bolts with not straight part but curved one (like left on the picture). But, to make a long story short: I can try to make a couple of customized U-bolts for the first person (only one) who indicate the willing for that. Price for a set= shipping expenses. Material- INOX.

But then you carnt really use the flat bars which leads me to my original comment your not pulling evenly but from the sides. There is a reason they use Square ubolts.

Don't get me wrong your clamps look substantial and well made they just dont work in this instance like a bent threaded bar would.

Of course, they will not! They were made for a specific task. Clamps for Diseqc motor might, and most likely, will look completely different.

So why mention them on a thread for a darkmotor square u bolt ? And then proceed to tell me you could fit them bolts inserted from the motor side ? And they would be better than threaded bar been bent which is the only decent solution offered here.

Just confuses the OP and the thread.
