Yes, I've seen the problem of overtightening the indicated bolt on mine. I've experienced that before. This time, however, the problem I think stemmed from the fact that I had fitted a second LNB to the motorised system. I was working with this setup for a couple of weeks, but I think that I hadn't moved the dish to 30W until the problem arose. From where I live, 30W is quite at an awkward angle, and I believe that with the additional weight, the motor couldn't make it to move the dish. However what confused me is that after I had removed both the LNBs and even the whole dish, the motor would still not move. So at that point I thought that the motor was fried. So I took it off. However, after opening it up, it started to work again, with no apparent damage and very little wear-and-tear present. So I am thinking of putting it on again. I just need to find some time.

It's time for an update, and with some pictures for an Jaeger SG2500A motor.
Let the pictures speak for them self. The mount (picture 3) for the motor is as on all Moteckmade motors to weak.

One of the backlash adjustment screws was stripped from the factory. (See pictures 7,8 & 9.) Lid is plastic painted silver. After about 18 months the backlash was terrible. I tightened it up but now it's still out by one degree when the motor reaches 28ºE.

Nice clear pictures, great demonstration.

Good morning All,

But at the end, can we have a winner? What is the best motor? I'm about to replace the existing one. Thanks!

Clarke Tech HH390, so far i think, according to this thread.

I wote for the Clarke Tech HH390 ,mine has been up for two years and still runs great.Had some backlash but could adjust it away.
Tryed to replace the CT with the Jaeger SG2500A but i was not pleased with this motor, to weak mount and had backlash. So I put up my CT again.

Ah soon DARKMOTOR will hve somethink NEW no motors have it....

maybe after some moths maybe we will allow to Clark tech ,dipend all from us.lol

what Winer you suspect m8...who is been Create that been us and the Fist ..is Darkmotor and have more experince and time to fix anythink wrong...all other motors are base in our examination and our fix...
no one of those companies has no idea haw this motor is create...In time Darkmotor was famouse in Market they was selling stub 90 and moteck...after when they see darkmotors is very good and even got our support they decede change their motor from one to other...

For that m8 is no doubt in it...who is talking difenet has diferent interes...this is the true...

they even do not know clarktech when the manufature is ! they but from Powerteck is our partner...lol

My Superjack DG120+ seems to have developed an electrical fault after 2 years of operation.
The Red light keeps coming on and the motor stops ,making a clicking sound.
If I plug it out and in again it may move again,it correctly moves Westwards most of the time but Easterly movement is hit and miss, most of the time the red light comes on and it makes a clicking sound.Other times it will move a little East then cut out .
I've tried it with a few different receivers and all give the same results.

I opened it up and took some pictures of it .
Its a fairly standard design .
The nylon gears are still in good nick.
I noticed the controller board had come ever so slightly loose and it had quite long solder legs on the back of it that could have shorted off the housing.
It served me well ,its make flaw was the bracket that came with it to attach to a pole,it was of very poor quality metal that bent when tightened.

Last time I saw a similar fault, someone had accidentally set an Eastern limit, needed to clear the limits on the receiver for it to work.

I tried that already Rolfw ,no good I'm afraid.
If I try to move the dish Eastwards via the rotor setup menu ,it clicks and wont move .It wont step East or move East.Westerly movement is fine.
If I set it to drive to an Easterly satellite (Drive to satellite) it sometimes just clicks ,other times it will move Eastwards ,sometimes to the Easterly limit. It only moves for some satellites and some of the positions are not correct .
If I select a channel on an Easterly satellite it just clicks ,no movement.
Its very weird.
I reset the motor via a pin and I've tried the motor with 3 different receivers (to rule out current/power issues ) and used a short piece of cable but it makes no difference.
I have posted about it on another thread as I dont want this thread to go off topic

One of my TM 2600 motors failed a while ago.
I had a look inside.Looking through this old thread I notice that the Jeager SG 2500 post 62 from 2010 looks like the same motor.

I have a dark motor from the same era where the backlash component has failed, giving around a 2 degree error. It had been used on a 1.4m dish though. Will take apart over the next few days and take some pictures of the internals.

Re the Supreme Dark Motor, beware that it does not work with some Linux receivers, whereas the Superior Dark Motor does - that's my experience with the Vu+ Solo 2 (doesn't work) and the TM5402 M3 (works). This was confirmed by the UK seller from which I bought the Supreme version when they exchanged that for the Superior version.
PS: both work fine with the Superior version. Not used it a lot over the last 18 months but no backlash issues yet. However, just bought another Superior and will be "interested" in how that performs!o_O

Then you will have the baton to strip both down, providing the imagery. I was just going to take apart something that has been returned free of charge in case it helps somebody with a similar loss of station keeping, though I suspect it is a clone of a motor that is known elsewhere.

Dark Motor Supreme (I think) worked OK with my Uno BUT it wasn't responding to step x commands, making it quite difficult to fine tune it. Was fine on the F15 and is still in my garage...
