Does anybody have as many issues as me with a motor. it never seems to work consistanlty well.

my motor is about 3 or 4 years old now and i dont think its ever worked properly.

ive had it attached to 3 different recievers, current receiver is a TM1500 but it still has issues.

list of issues:
1. move west from 0 and it goes for a few seconds, then starts to move east.
2. once i get to 13e its impossible to move back west without moveing to reference.
3. all my recievers have lost the memory of sat positions so i have to re align then.
4. it would on one satellite all week then all of a suuden it will decide to bugger of as far east as it can go.
5. and finally last week i lost all signal, the angles havent moved as the bolts are rusted solid. i wired the connectors and checked for water so i beleive thats fine.
the only problem i can see it my lnb has died or the motor is not passing the signal through anymore.

is my motor just crap, shall i buy a new one? if so, which?

Piccie below.

or shall i just go for a multi sat fixed system (i only use 13e, 16e and 19e)?

sorry for the moan on a sunday morning, any suggestions appreciated.

thanks

Hi,

To be honest I have never had problems with my motors, both my STAB and Moteck do not falta, on both TMs I have.

Does the motor support USALS? If so I would suggest trying that as it is far easier and less to go wrong, as the receiver sends direct comands to the receiver telling it where to go, rather than relying on pre-stored positions.

Yes a multi-LNB setup could be used for those three satellites, although you would most likely need to get the Alps narrow feedhorn LNBs and a suitable bracket. Incidentally an 80cm is a touch on the small side for all of 16E.

BTW, please upload your pictures in future, the site admin prefers it that way.

sorry about the pic.

thanks for the reply, usals doesnt appear to do anything so i'll take that as my motor does not support usals.

shall i just bite the bullet and buy a decent motor?

not sure what brand, cant see any markings on it.

no signal on anything, anywhere. if the weathers right sometime this week i'll bypass it and prove to myself that all is fine except the motor.

replacement will have to wait though, as the damn dishwasher has just packed in. :(

:-rofl2

Get the wife to do the dishes:p;)

and besides dishwashers are expensive, a new dish motor would be fairly cheap (about £40)
