Some manufacturers claim losses as high as 4dB. The loss itself is not going to impact your SNR at the receiver end unless you have a long run of lossy cable between the LNB and STB because there is ample gain marigin in modern LNB's that make up for the normal losses encountered.
But: If the inline unit (switch, H-H rotor or positioner) is poorly engineered so that it introduces severe impedance mismatches to the system it may impact your SNR at the STB end because the tuner "sees" a weird line impedance far from 75ohms. I have experienced this first-hand with my Superjack V-BOX II that originally came with a badly designed (low-cost) 22kHz diseqc extraction circuit. After a simple modification I regained the lost 2-3% SNR (as measured on a DM7020S, Philips tuner)
