hi one of my neighbours has a flat tv with freeview built into it at moment they are using a aerial,
can i put up a sat dish and put aerial connection on end and then retune the built in freeview to get freeview without using a diggibox?

That's as it should be, Freeview = aerial and Freesat = satellite.

No, you'll need either a TV with built in Freesat or some form of satellite reciever like an old Skybox, Freesat STB or even one of the cheap FTA deals from the DIY sheds. The satellite dish will not pick up UHF Freeview. Alternatively you could put up a TV aerial and use Freeview.

Welcome paulboy3200.

Freeview reception is only received via a terrestrial aerial feed; Freesat via a satellite dish feed ;)
