Dish for milan

My Satellite Setup
pace 2600c1
invacom twin 0.3 lnb
My Location
near milan
Going back to Italy in a few weeks(20miles from Milan). Need to set up my tv to view the astra 2D english channels, I can't take any more Rai and Mediaset:-Nooo. I already have a Pace 2600c1 digibox and a twin invacom lnb with the feedhorn built in.

Now to the dish, I think I will need a 1 metre dish, need your views on this. Also what manufacturer would you advice me to get.

Welcome,

Local knowledge is always best but from what I've read for reliable 2d reception you'll need somewhere around a 120cm.

I've seen a Triax 110 on ebay for around £40.00, it seems a bit too good to be true. Is it a good dish for fringe reception or should I invest in something like a Gibertini 120. Advice Needed, THANKS:eek:
 
a gibertini 1.5m will be a better choice as its better to have a dish a little larger than you need incase of bad weather etc to keep reception of channels

the gibertini 1.2m dish would yes be better than the triax but costs more
 
The Triax 110 is only a 1m dish, the 110 is misleading.

Get the Gibby.

I've seen a cheap (£20) second hand 120 Channel master, I was wondering can I use my twin invacom lnb with a build-in feedhorn, or would I need to get an lnb with the separate feedhorn for the CM, THANKS.:)
 
An LNBf will work with this high performance dish but in short, to get the best out of the dish, a c120 LNb and matched feedhorn would be a better choice.

for 20 get that dish quick smart, bargain

the invacom lnb will work on the dish, give it a try before buying the feed + c120 lnb

Hello shadows9, when you mean you watch sky, do you mean all the english channels (bbc and itv on astra 2d) with an 80cm, do you get any probs. I live in Sotto il Monte.
 
Just looking at a couple of reports and it looks like the Triax 110 should give you stable reception of 2D channels, as at least one guy is receiving on a 65cm, sounds a little small to me, but you can't beat on the spot info, a guy 40km South of Milan uses a 1m dish for 24hr reception.:)

i watch all english channals mate bbc itv 4 5 etc the only problems i have is when we have one of those summer storms which is a couple of days a year i use sky plus from this dish i also have a 1m dish which i use for all other sat with a tm 5400 which also picks all the english channels on 28e
 
Hi Shadows 9,

I have just rented a house just outside Milan and have brought a SKY+ decoder and active card with me to use with the dish already installed on the roof of my house for the Italian SKY.
Do you know of anyone who can help me adjust my existing dish so that I can pick up the UK signal?
