Im gonna have a go at installing this my self, just wanted to know how high does the dish have to be as i have seen some dishes that dont seem to be that high and as i dont like hights much it would be great to not climb to high up.

High enough to:

1) Clear any obstruction
2) Prevent kids throwing/kicking things at it.

Low enough to safely reach to adjust.

Other than that it comes down to aesthetics on your house.

As long as it has a clear view out towards 16E it doesnt matter where it goes. One of my dishes sits on an old car tyre and works perfectly well :D

Bit worried now, just had a look at _http://www.dishpointer.com seen which way the dish has to be pointed and theres a house that could be in the way. Then again the dish would be elevated slightly so would that be ok please tell me it will be ok.

If some one could look at the website and look on hybrid view you would see what i mean address is ******************* pointing to the 16.0E Eutelsat W2 dish. my house is the one with the blue sheet in the garden and 2 red cars out the front. Please some one help!!

Probably not best to post your address on a public forum but...

Dish should be ok on the far left or right of your south facing wall (clearing the building to the south).

If you have to put it in the middle, put it as high up the wall as you can to clear the roof of the building to the south.

Depends how high the dish is going to be on the wall, but I don't think it would need to be too high.

16 East is better than 2 in 1 elevation, so if you pace out the distance from your back wall to the side of the house, it should be easy to work out.

If the object is 10 metres high, but 20 metres away, then you will clear it.

If you put the dish on the Western corner of the house, you will have a better line of sight, but pacing out the distance between your back wall and the other house would be helpful.

Well done, are you sure it is 12 metres, as that is close to forty feet high.
