Hi,
For many years I used a wireless burglar alarm that is intended for interior house use. I put one sensor in my shed and the other underneath a wooden gate frame, so the weather / rain couldn't get at it. Sited it near my dish. It worked a treat. These days I now have a dog a few feet away from the dish and he would bark like 'ell if anyone came near it. Two ideas to kick off with. :)

Get a bigger dish! It will be too heavy and, to be honest, I've never heard of a dish being stolen!

Get a big dish a 1.8 or 2.2 takes some walking off with. Some one would surly see them walking down the street with one.

suppose it depends where you live, i live in a bit of a ghetto lol

yea i suppose ti would be more difficult to nick a bigger dish

Wrap some proper razer wire round the elbow bracket/pole mount, can't stand thieving b@#tards.

Get two attack geese.....(I happen to have two available...)

Not forgetting the land mine .....

Years ago we had a 2.4m for community distribution but floor mounted!
Thieves pretented to be engineers for dish maintenance!........whatever dish gone....... €1900 to replace:eek::eek:

Nothing - most of my dishes are rusty as hell - many of them are donkeys years old, second hand & getting on for 20 years old. Any thief daft enough to run off with them is welcome to them.

TBH, there are now so many dishes of various sizes and shapes "out there" that your average "lowlife" probably won't know which one(s) is worth any "real money" or where they could sell them - and, as mobile phones are much quicker and easier to nick (and are easy to sell on) then dishes will be very low on their hit lists (unlike the 1990's!).

good idea in theory but probably cost too much
More or less what I implied earlier - security "fittings" can cost more than it's worth given (as I said earlier) that current "low lives" are TOTALLY "ignorant" w.r.t, the possible "value" of an unusual sat dish.

In other words, make sure the dish is reasonably well bolted-down and then I doubt you would be likely to be a potential "low life" target.
