You don't need to do anything to the dish setup, if you can get gotoX working, the job will be simple, just swap over the receivers, and setup the motor using gotoX (USALS substitute). If not you will have to use Diseqc 1.2 and store the sat positions manually.

Hopefully your dm500 will work the motor OK, there are reports of clones having problems. In which case you could move the dish with the TM, and feed through to the DM.

Yes, of course, it wont know how far to turn the motor otherwise.

You need to go into each Satellite and select USALS (IIRC there isn't a "global" setting ie one tick and USALS applied to all Satellites on that Box, so you have to select that mode for each and every one).

Then, when you select a USALS enabled Satellite, the motor will drive to the correct position.

That's something you really need to find out for yourself, by navigating around and seeing what's what.

You won't get the best out of it if you don't play around.

As a matter of interest, are you in Milan, as per your User Profile, or are you in the UK?

Tends to be rather important for many Satellite related issues - In particular, setting up on 1W is fine for the UK, but not terribly valid for Milan ...................... If you are located there, then you should be using Eurobird 9A at 9E as your reference Satellite!
