No, just I'm half-Russian and wanted to get more Russian channels.
Could you, please, specify, where exactly you're residing at the moment because "Middle East" is a very loose concept? Sometimes Armenia is also referred to as a part of this region although we are somewhere between Europe and the Middle East. This satellite is one of the most popular among native population (as most of us are fluent in Russian) and is received strongly stable under all weather conditions. The extreme (first and last)
transponders 12518 V 22000 FEC 7/8 and 12732 V 22000 FEC 7/8 are the strongest ones (86-89% and 89-95% respectively according to the signal quality scale of Openbox X-800 and via 105cm motorized standard offset dish). The only disappointing fact is the rather high rate of Frequency errors correction (FEC) - 7/8 which asumes that you have to get enough signal to enjoy stable viewing experience. But many positive changes/improvements gonna take place when the latest ABS-2 takes over and replaces this old satellite in 2013: FEC is expected to drop to 3/4 and the package Raduga - enlarged and enriched with new channels of NTV+. Considering the coverage map of North beam, if you live in syria or Iraq, 1.30-1.50m offset dish is sufficient, but if you live further to the south, in Israel or Jordan, then I would recommend to upgrade the dish size up to 1.50-1.80m along with much lower noise LNB like Inverto Black Ultra single 0.2db or Invacom.
