Hello Friends,

I am new to this forum i am at madagascar want to get Airtel Digital TV from INSAT 4CR , Pease advise me which size of dish and which type of LNB i need?

thank you

Airtel use an Indian spotbeam so the answer is likely to be "no chance in Madagascar"

I tried wtih my 2.4m dish nd got just 5% of signal

If you want to watch move to India. Or do without. Your choice.

Hello,

I can reach this "India Spot beam" with only 220cm. Not from Madagascar, but from Germany.

Best Regards
qwer.

My description of a spot beam is probably rather inaccurate but seeing as no reliable footprint maps seem to exist for the Indian birds its as good description as any other. ISRO just draw lines around India for the coverage maps.

However inaccurate or not its a reasonable way to describe the coverage to a newcomer to the hobby who is looking for the impossible / impractical.

And seeing as our OP cant get a sniff of a signal on a 2.4m dish hes probably looking at 5m or more for reliable reception.
