dish size for turksat south beam

hi what is the min size dish i could use for picking up the south beam channels on turksat im from norfolk .and what lnb would u recommendi have 80 cm at present and im getting the west beam ok .but the soth are breaking up.
 
I assume you mean the East Beam. I can't believe you are getting anything from this with an 80 cm dish. Normally to receive this in the UK you need a 2.5 to 3m dish. Are you sure you are not looking at a transponder on the spot beam? These are a fair bit weaker than the main West Beam.

The only sniff of an East Beam signal I ever got was around 11 years ago in the analogue days on the old Turksat 1B (which had similar footprints to 1C). For a while there was a channel called HBB which you could just make out through the snow. It was on a low frequency so I presumed this meant it travelled that little bit further and was attenuated that little bit less by the downlead. Later on it moved over to the West Beam and shortly after bankrupted!

If you really are getting East Beam signals on a small dish, please let us all know how you are doing it.

no i dont mean east i mean south i have checked on lynsat and 80 to 90 cm should do thanks any way
 
But there is no South Beam. There are the East & West Beams, and then there are two Spot Beams (listed as S1 & S2 on Lyngsat). The Spot Beams can be steered anywhere within sight of the satellite, but have both been configured to cover Turkey and Western Europe. These are a bit weaker here in the UK than the dedicated West Beam. But 80 - 90 cm should do it fine (I get them all well on my 85cm dish except in the most extreme rain). My wife is from Istanbul, so we get to see a lot of TV from Turksat!
