Hi,
I have just bought a 1.2m dish can it be mounted on a gable wall or for saftey should it be mounted in the garden.Thanks for any info.

A 1.2 will be OK on a good sound wall with a substantial mount, but if you have the option of a ground mount, then it will be more solid and certainly easier to work on.

Thanks for the quick reply rolfw.How much of a base would a ground mount need and what would a good wall mount be.Sorry for all the questions.

For a 1.2m, a scaffold pole embedded in a concrete base would be OK, a 3 inch pole would be better though. I'll try and find a link to some wall mounts.

hi m8, i have a 1.2m dish, its mounted on a tripod and bolted to the ground, its quite big and it needs to be fixed.

Have my dish mounted on 3" pole 7ft 6" above ground, 2ft 6" below set into 8" post hole filled with concrete. Polar mount for 1.2mt dish has 3" clamp. Try local blacksmith or scrap yard, has not moved in 4 years and live on coast can get very windy.

talking dishes, what sort of motor would i need to drive a 1.25, as its fixed on sirus at the moment.???
