There will possibly be a need at some point for Ku band but in the first instance C band is the priority.
However, as with most of my plans and projects, things are subject to change and invariably descend into bodge jobs on a seismic scale before being consigned to the dustbin of despair.
If it were absolutely 100% only for C band, I would get a mesh dish from somewhere. The tin men stopped making the Fortec Star petalised dustbin lids at 2.4 metres, if they had made a 3.0 metre or larger variant it might have been a consideration as a C band only option. However, I am not a fan of products from the tin men, nor am I a fan of offset focus dishes.
