DIY screened cable- where to get parts?

Where can I get the following items:


shielded mains cable with three 2.5 mmq twisted conductors and a strong copper shield

and/ or shielded mains cable with two 1.5 mm2 stranded copper wires.

ferrite clamps

IEC plugs, figure of 8 connectors and a good quality plug (the one that goes into the wall).


I looked at rswww but got totally lost and gave up.

Any pros out there like to help me?

Cheers for that but they don't sell CY cable, ferrites or IEC. But I did find them on rs, cpc and fleabay so will get the parts in the new year.

Anyone wanting shielded mains cables let me know before I order the parts ;)

Maplin maybe? Or have you tried them?

Yes, looked at Maplin- they had some bits but are a bit pricey.

A 2nd look (with the proper search terms) at RS and I found the parts, but their website is a bit crap- you can't right click and open a link which is a right pain when you've done a search and want to keep the results.
