My Satellite Setup
DM500 on a 1.2M motorised dish.
My Location
Manchester
The other day I was switching over to another satellite and my box froze and when I tried to get back on it started and just froze again after trying to load the cccam.

Now, I see this as a perfect chance to get a DM800.

My question is, how easy will it be to install it on my motorised dish?

Will it be as easy as plugging in , installing image and scanning chans?

Or will I have to get someone to realign my dish?

Bare in mind I am not an expert at installation. I am comfortable with connecting to pc etc, just the physical installation up ladders etc I cant do.

Any tips appreciated

depends how your dish was aligned before
if you have used diseqc 1.2 with predefined satellites stored on the motor, you'll have to set those up in the dm800
if you used USALS then you'd have to setup same on the dm800

in either case, you don't need to realign the dish anyways

So its basically about messing with the settings on the actual DM800.

Even if the dish is stuck between 2 different positions?

You should be able to a "drive motor to zero", which is zero degrees for your motor.
