I have the above setup with pli enigma2 jade.

i only manage to get an hour or so on the channels ive flicked through.

anyone know how to set this up properly?

ive searched the net only to find unsuccessful attempts or unfinished threds.

grateful for assistance.

Well cheeky, even having a C/S running is not going to give what is not available on a Dreambox. The sky EPG is proprietry to a sky box and no other at the moment
 
I'm pretty sure the latest Black Hole E2 image will do this. I haven't got it to work yet (Sly Italia does) but then there are lots of things I haven't managed yet!

Try EPG-Evolution, I think its about the best E1 epg out there.

You'll need to have the dreambox connected to the internet for it to work.

If its not available in the downloads panel with Pli, you'll need to manually install it.

If the box is not permanently connected to the net, you could try a combination of the MV (Multi View) plugin and XMLTV. I got this working a while back, but its messy as you have to download the EPG data to your PC, then load it to the dreambox and allow MV to process it. You'll probably only get away with few days worth of data at a time because storage space is limited in the DM500.

Incidentally, how does your Enigma 2 image perform in the DM500? I didn't think there was one.

As far as I know, you cant load a blackhole enigma 2 image on a DM500.

@compufunk,

which multiview version did you manage to get working?ive tried several ways to add this plugin to my 500 but have not managed yet!!
any links to proven software or/and a good tutorial?Thanks mate

I dont know what the version was, whatever was available in the downloads panel at the time.

As for a tutorial, I dont know of any. I just read through the user guide and figured out how to get it working.

When you are downloading the TV Guide data using XMLTV, only download 1 days worth for testing.

If the output file is too big, I found that MV would crash when processing the data. I was getting max 4-5 days worth of data for around 30-40 channels (FTA Stuff).
 
PLi jade has all the necessary tools & scripts to fetch the epg data for sky (from the radiotimes website).
however :
- you must select the SQLite database for storing the epg data
- you must download & configure the "epg data" plugin for RadioTimes
- I'm not sure if this is going to work on a dm500 because of lack of memory
- on my 7000, the epg data slows down the channel zapping considerably even when limiting the time-span to 2 days of data
