DM500s what to do now!

Ok Guys Here we go!!

I have a fixed dish set up from a S*Y guy months ago. What I am trying to do is set this DM500s up so my dad can use it. He is in Liverpool I am up in Scotland! (like a plug and play for him!!)

I have flashed the box to - PLi jade green. done an auto transponder scan - picked up FTA channels on 28.2E,

What keys, cams settings would you suggest?? (and how?)

He wants to watch Channels like discovery and all dad channels like that, movies - yes, sport - no!

(Astra 2A/2B/2C/2D (28,2°E) - frequencies - KingOfSat) are the channels i see!!

Any ideas?

When i look at my EPG i see all channels but obviously cant see the encryptid ones when i select them - black screen.

I havent a card, and when its in liverpool it wont be connected to the internet.

Without a valid subscription card the only thing your dad will be watching are freeview channels Sky is not compromised and therefore there are no keys for you to insert, if you want Discovery you will have to purchase the appropriate subscription

Does that mean he is better of just buying sky??

And i have an expensive freeview box :(

Is there anything I can do?

So why has everybody else got a DM500s then - if they are that bad???

What channels have they got?

I have the DM550c thats why i suggested the DM500s for my dad coz he cant get cable!

--for sale 1xDM500s and brand new region 1 satellite dish!!!-- :(

They are usually used in conjunction with a motorized dish but, these days there is very little available with keys from any of the satellites.

Not having an internet connection means that your dad will be very limited in what he can do.

So if he was connected to the net all the time - -it would be anoter matter?

It 'could' possibly be another matter but sky are currently in the midst of a card change so nobody yet knows the effects that will have on card sharing. The point being that if you want your dad to have trouble free viewing then get him a sky subscription.
