DM800 HD does not recognize Hard Drive

I installed "OpenPLi-2.1-beta-dm800-20120816 by gjstroom" image on my DM800HD but now the box does not recognize the External Hard Disk or the USB, it does not give the option to "mount" or "initialize"

Any help would be appreciated.
 
This is a common problem. Best solution is to sort this out via your PC. To check that the box can see your HD, install DCC (Dream Control Centre) , and use Telnet to give the command "mount" or "fdisk", or "blkid". from the returning info, you can see if the HD exists. You do need to be able to interpret the Linux info. "fdisk" gives the clearest info.
 
Happens sometimes when you change image. Try another image to find one you like that does recognise the drive.
