DM800 working with a smargo reader - serious headache!

Hi Guys & Gals.
Thanks in advance for reading this and helping out where possible - this is my first post on here, but i have a serious headache so im hoping someone may be able to help.

To cut a long story short, im trying to get a smargo reader working on my DM800 and im falling at an early stage. After following various tutorials on the net I have done all the biz with the reader, and I have updated it to version 1.4. I am running NABILO IMAGE, version 12.

Ok, when I come to the dreambox the issue that is causing problems is when I add a line of code into the boot file (/etc/init.d/bootup). The tutorial tells me I need to add:

echo 90 > /proc/progress
modprobe ftdi_sio

and then restart enigma 2.

Ok - I have done this 100's of times today, and subseauently re-flashed my box hundreds of times too! - when i add this line of code my box will NOT BOOT - period.
Its definately this small piece of code - without the code it boots - with the code its nackared!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Glad you got sorted, what exactly was the problem?
 
Well to put it simply, just dont edit the boot file! - nothing what so ever needs to be done in the boot file.

Continued with the tutorial, few teething problems as one would expect and now I have a working smargo in the 800.
