Huy Guys, I am new to your club, and i find the forum very interesting. I have been i n touch with a chinese company who sold me a dream box 800, and Yes It was Faulty, I had to pay 28£ to return it, and It has been lost in the post. The Royal Mail, say it should not have been sent to China, even if it came from there they do not allow any sat boxes into the country, STRANGE ???? I was intending to connect a dvd recorder to it, but never happened. I have been asking arround, I dont know the first thing about the boxes, so if any one could give me some advice on the set up and how to use it, i would be very grateful. I see you can buy the 800 hd pvr here for 190£. thanks for your time, chas.

Split your post from an archive thread. Warm welcome to the forum :)

At £190 you will still be buying a clone, not a Dream Multimedia manufactured DM800. It will still be from China (most likely) and you might have the same trouble all over again. I suggest you pay the £300 and buy yourself a DreamMultimedia manufactured DM500HD or a real DM800HD which will cost around £380.
Note that you don't need to connect a DVD recorder to it as it supports a hard disk for recording and connection to a PC where you can record the recordings on DVD - or you can just play them back from the hard disk or PC.

rather than a dm800 clone, why not try a vu+ solo from a uk supplier, they should be a touch over £200.

one guy on ebay selling them for best offer of £235. so you might tempt him down to £210 ish? i had the big brother vu+ duo off there for £300 and could now pick one up for £285 delivered.

the vu+ boxes are basically the same as the dm800/8000 as they both run the enigma 2 operating system, they just look different!

As it's well over a year ago since the OP posted his query, I would suspect that he has sorted out something by now. Still, we might get an update eventually.
