I can't decide between DM800HD SE and VU+ Duo I heard VU+ Duo have some issues with cccam and causes frequent freeze and flickering. But I am very interested in VU+ because of twin tuner. Which one is better in SD transmission, as I still watch lot of channels are not moved to HD so SD picture quality and upscaling should be very good.

I also want to know if I need to run two cables from my dish to VU+ to use both tuner or only one cable?

I also need advice on which LNBs are the best for HD channels? and if I need to run two receivers I will need to Switches or one.

My apologies I am new to satellite world.

I won't be the one to tell you to go for DB 800 se or VU+Due because although I had/have only dreamboxes, the VU+Due is also a great Receiver from the info I have gathered (although I haven't heard of any CCcam mishap). Regarding SD transmissions the Dreambox has an astounding quality both in HD and SD material. If you want to run two Tuners you need a dual out Lnb having two Cables for Tuners A+B. Mind you if you want to record a Channel and watch another, it has to be on the same Satellite. I would recomend a Black Inverto Lnb or (the one which I use) a BEST 0.1 db Lnb (BEST is the brand Name made in Germany {so they say}). If you want to use 1 or 2 Receivers will depend whether you will use the 'loopthrough' system or independently.

Hi i have both stb and haven't had any cccam issue's with either.I have had issues with the dm800 on hd channels the vu+ is rock solid and the better machine in my opinion. If you are using a single satellite and want to use two tuners on the vu+ and another elsewhere in the home the best and easiest way is using a quad lnb and run new cables from it to receivers...

The DM800 has a twin tuner does it not ?

Thanks Chris, how is the SD channel performance on VU+ compared to DM800HD SE? if I have to run 4 cables for quad lnb to two VU+ boxed from the maze of my house then it's too much, I would stick to single tuner boxes. Are you using cccam? I really need to know if cccam works well without any glitches.

No, One Tuner, and loopthrough facility.

The vu+ is similar to the 800 not much in it mate but the vu+ is better. Again if your only using a single satellite then to properly use the vu you will need to independent cables from the dish from a double or quad lnb. I use cccam but not for cs mate so I can't comment also the rules forbid it. Edit I was talking about sd channels above

Had 2 DM800 before (not SE) sold them after testing the Vu+Duo, no more Dreambox for me. Yes cccam works great on Duo.

It has only a single sat tuner.
You can however add a DVB-T USB tuner .

Sundtek do one and an IPK installer with the drivers for the Dreambox. No personal experience of it though.

Interesting ,must look into that.
I have a DVB-t usb tuner currently working on my 800s.

I think that DM 800se costs almost as DM8000, and that last one has 2 Sat tuners and 2 empty slots for another 2 SAT or DVB-T tuners. So, my opinion that there is no better tnan DM8k SAT receiver on the market today.

which box got better tuner of all VU+ Duo, Solo, DM800HDse, DM7020HD, DM8000
It Is Important to get weak level signals
I have heard that Vantage 8000HD got some of the best tuner available
