How do I search for UK DTTV channels and register them? BBC1and BBC2 missing but ITV1and upwards are OK. Analogue search seems wlorking but menus a nightmare. HELP!!
 
Firstly, have you ever received the missing channels as digital?

Do you know which transmitter you are receiving your signals from?

If you can find that out, then you can identify which frequency to manually scan, as what may have happened is that you are receiving off the rear or side of the aerial from a distant transmitter but the signal is not quite strong enough for all of the multiplexes.

For example, your aerial could be pointing at Plympton or one of the other local transmitters, but Caradon Hill which is at lower frequencies is scanned first by your TV, some TVs will accept the first channel cluster they find.
 
Thanks for the reply Rolf. The TV had only been used as a monitor fed via scart from a stand alone Bush DTV receiver and had provided good service since Digital start up. I was asked.to fit a VTR to the system. During this operation, up popped a digital
signal boquet minus BBC 1 ans 2. The TV owner had a 30 page manual for the TV so I thought I could tidy things up..WRONG!!
The manual has no mention of the specific model and some of the remote buttons are not working!! The manual makes nmention
of some of the R/C operations and I have taken ages to find how to search for DTV signals. Because of the latter two points I had a norwegian list of R/C commands for ever! All in all its a mess I am in!! I hope a good samariton will help with knowledge of DMTECH user instruction.or DTV set up
 
Finally sorted the TV OK. Found the bottom row of remote control were not working . Another R/C and everything OK.

So now's the time to prise open the old Telecommander, discard all the bits of plastic that break off in the process, and give the key contacts a good scrub with All Porpoise Cleaner >> Consign to working spares drawer.
