I was looking for Fibo dishes but none seem to be available. No longer made/available? I am looking for a 1.2. looks as if I will have to scour the for sale lists and pay a small fortune.

Unfortunatly the company that manufactured this antennas (Fibo-Støp) does not exist and have not since the mid 90's

Fibo Gregorian Dual Reflector Antenna Information

many thanks, I found a company that still makes one but only a Fibo 90. Looks like it will be an expensive 2nd hand when one turns up.I was showing the design to a friend and he is unable to see why one can't be made from a decent dish if I can get the small reflector feed Muller shows it as a spare and mount it on the rail so its adjustable, just need to get the angles correct.

Having been in the business for far too many years, the first thing for a clone to be viable, is the return of investment for the production run, taking into account the mould, vacuum process, base materials, factory placement, shift staff, quality assurance, surface preparation, paint spray and drying, forward storage, packaging, distribution and warranty ?

Do you want to place an order for 5000 now ?

Yes and here is my £5 deposit. Wasn't thinking of mass production, just making one. Able to buy most parts, have to make a small reflector but with the drawings and photos it is possible.

For single quantity you could employ a decent panel beater.

I am not technical enough but I have a mate who used to do technical drawings for aircraft when they were made at the local airport. Sent him the details from the Fibo site and include what I thought was a suitable dish, going by the dimensions. Gibertini 1.25 M 1.3 x 1.2 Aluminium.

Since the Fibo stops in 1.2m were dual optics, the Gibertini is unlikely to be suitable unless you are really lucky with the beating of the second reflector. Your mate may be beating out a few before getting it right ( )

Thanks. Looks very good, in fact it looks like quality. The pdf shows its about the same as a Fibo 120. But its weighs a hell of alot.

I suspect it'll be the entire package weight for shipping and I wouldn't be surprised if they added a kilo or 20 to it....

Hmmm..... well it looks very good and I doubt if a Fibo 1.2 will turn up for ages. And i can take it with me when I move. I notice it states only supplied to re sellers in the UK. Must be a way around that.....

:(That's not very Christmassy is it......
I notice the Fibo they claim weighs 11 kg which is much lighter than the Level 421- 1.2 at 40 kg., although another data sheet shows 30 kg. P.S. Go to the data sheet in the Level 421 link.......not what I expected.

Fibo 1.2m is quite a heavy monster - heavier than the Channel Master of the same ilk but it's slightly larger too.
