hello , can you share the local s*y card inside the dm800 or do you need a separate card reader ?

If UK card it can be read by the various cam options with the DM800 using the inside slot. Some people get concerned about overheating cards and go for the smargo option.

Take it in stages, use your DM800 Internal Reader and learn to share, if you find its sumat you want to keep on with, go for a Smargo.

But be warned, that wont be enough, next it will be another DM

Then a Linux Server, then the World :-rub ...... ooh sorry got carried away there :-shh

Have a go and learn a bit

The same at my end; about the 'bug thing' ;) But, I'd rather rip my DM500s to practice on before I touch my DM800HD PVR (still boxed!) I got the DM800HD & smargo (two of those!), but I have my doubts about my expertise at the moment.
At this stage I guess I might be having all the bits and pieces needed; but I'm struggling with putting them all together & then to work. Next would be DM800HD, lets hope atleast one of us would get the hang of it and guide the other! :)

I had a go just to see if it would work and it did in the internal slot.

Be careful of the white card in the internal reader - make sure you read the thread about the 'white card' where it tells you which options to turn of in CCcam to make sure you don't cook the card, then it will work fine wothout a smargo.

hi i have done search for "white card " but cant find nothing about settings CCAM options , can you please point me in the righ direction?
thanks

Sorry I lead you on a wild goose chase. That was when we had to use newcs to update. With CCcam you have to edit CCcam.cfg and disbale GA: Add a line ": /dev/scsi0 04" without the quotes. Look for the right place in the file by findng the comment.
I think it is good enough to just disable GA, but I could be wrong.

on newcs 1.67 , what are the best options most stable? i have seen various yes no combinations
mine is like this :
<blocksa>no</blocksa>
<blockua>No</blockua>
<blockga>yes</blockga>
<blockC0>Yes</blockC0>

but i am getting the occasional freeze
cheers
