Personally no I don't, but the amount of people I have known to "quit" have moved onto vape/E-cig's instead, which to me a non smoker and a man that struggles to keep a household on a limited budget I don't get, I known Vaping ect is cheaper, but how much and for how long as time progresses.......and your still not allowed to "Vape" in shops, restaurants, pubs, clubs ect.......daft.

Not any more.

Got up to forty a day in my Royal Navy days .... tried giving up gradually, but the final solution was just to resist completely for a few days: If you then cave in and light up, the taste is so disgusting, you won't ever do it again.

I have been vaping for 6 years lol

Smoked heavily from 13 - 38 yrs old

Best thing I ever did, never had a cough since, can blow up balloons, don't lose my breath etc

Do it, you will feel so much better and wont smell like an ashtray anymore

Only problem is now I am addicted to vaping lol

As a cynical b@$t@rd I know for a fact in 15-20 years time there will be a witch hunt on Vaping but I know everyone who has made the switch says the exact same mate, no tightness in the chest, better breathing just all round and smelling like candy floss at the fayre is way better than smelling like an ashtray.

There already is, the WHO has said that you're inhaling dangerous chemicals from burning the liquids, except an ecig isn't burning anything, and the WHO didn't get the concept of the vaporising aspect of ecigs, but them, the tobacco industry and the pharmaceutical industry are all on a witch-hunt to destroy vaping, despite the facts gathered over the past 5 years that show it has far more health benefits for ex-smokers than things like patches, inhalators and gum, and is making GPs lives easier when dealing with smoking related health problems... :)

It's amusing that they attack ecigs for "burnt chemicals" though, but for decades, the same technology has existed without any detriments to health in the form of smoke machines, similar liquids, same vaporising, etc.... :)

i just cant be arsed if im being honest

Well I smoked from the age of 11 until the age of 49 and although not a heavy smoker of rollups I dread to think what my lungs looked like. What persuaded me to give up was pressure in my chest when bending over to say load the dryer, shortness of breath when exercising and stinking like an ashtray. I gave up at 40 for 18 months but succumbed when going on holiday. In the end I used a Paul McKenna tape when 49 and after three weeks of daily viewing before going to bed thought what a load of rubbish but a week later was my wife's birthday and I did not have a cigarette all evening. Next news it was a week and it was a month before I realised I had actually stopped. It is a completely anti-social habit in today's society.

IA couple of years after giving up smoking I got an umbilical hernia and whilst seeing the specialist he was checking for other hernias and said there was one in the area of my diaphragm. After surgery he told me that I would be able to breath better now as air was leaking from my chest cavity into my abdomen. I am glad to say I can now walk for 10 miles or swim 80 lengths non-stop, or I can blow up 60 balloons or a double airbed without getting dizzy, which tells me my lungs are now inefficent from the point of view of absorption but capacity has improved.

I have never tried nor do I intend trying vaping, at the end of the day it is nicotine addiction which brings it's own set of problems both physical and psychological

Countries lobbied by big business take the WHO when it suits them, the latest one in the last 2 years is sugar, it gives you cancer apparently (Like everything else) so the U.K. government in their divine wisdom introduces a sugar tax on soft drinks to battle obesity ect ect with the excuse of diet soft drinks being the alternative........em don't they contain artificial sweetening agents that numerous studies (Including ones in the good old USA) cause cancer? And that's the ones that have been in use for years, the new ones like Stevia derived from plants scientists have no clue about how the human body will react to this being introduced to the human body over a life time.

Yes I am one of the unlucky ones that has zero tolerance to stevia, I know within minutes what has happened and I usually just have just enough time to make it to the loo, but companies are more and more using stevia making it necessary for me to read the ingredients of everything

Ooft, that's awful mate, sorry to hear that, I read recently a study in states has without question proved that baking with Splenda releases cancerous chemicals to be released, cake anyone? Idiots

I can't drink diet or "zero" drinks as the aspartame causes me to suffer diarrhoea, aswell as feel generally unwell feeling, and with the "sugar tax" making regular drinks more expensive, I just decided to buy tesco's 17p 2L bottles of fizzy water instead, no health issues, and I can still make obnoxious burps happen... :-rofl2

another thing is as well is that smoking these days is expensive, 20 pack of benson blue is like £8

Mental, I'm not that old but I remember a 20 pack being like £4.

"Pardon you!" lol

I use a ecig, I've had one since 2014.
I do not blow those huge clouds or any of that nonsense, I tried sub ohm and that was not for me.
Personally I prefer a tobacco/menthol flavor and keep it simple with just 1.5ohm and 12 nic juice.

I cannot go near anything with Aspartame or similar, I get an instant migraine and feel foggy. It's not in my mind either as I've been given it by mistake or not known it was in something and it's happened.

Other types of artificial sweeteners will cause me to run to the toilet very quickly.
