My Satellite Setup
Win7/Firefox
85cm Transparent dish and 3 dual LNB's 13,19,28



One diseqc to PC and Sky Star 2, and a diseqc to
Humax Foxsat HDR
My Location
Fylde Coast in West Lancs
The bracket for my dish is high on the housewall.
Does it need to be earthed, or 'grounded' as a US guy suggested.
 
I use DVBDream and mostly at startup for Eurosport on 19E there is Zero Strength and Quality.
This was just another possible solution on the US DVBDream forum and I believe grounding is necessary over there.

Sometimes I can get over the problem by trying a popular channel on the same sat and if that works I go back to Eurosport and find thats now working.
If it doesn't I go downstairs to watch it on the TM1500, amongst the family.

Well perhaps out there it may help as they have a 110V systems with no earthing at all in their domestic circuits........not the case over here. Having said that, I do not see how what they are proposing can affect the functionality of DVBDream
 
If one receiver is working well, then there is little chance that there is anything wrong with the voltage potential of the dish on the wall. I would first try swopping over the receivers to see if the trouble remains on one, or on the cable run, then replace the LNB if the problem remains, as it is probably the cheapest part of the system,

And all UK and european receivers are two wire nowadays so there is no earth link back to the chassis via the mains unless it is introduced.
