Downloading files with RDC

If you have a file that you would like to share with a friend, then using RDC (Remote Desktop Connection) might be the best way to do it.
If the file is already on your PC, then you don't need to upload it to an external server (would take ages), and then your friend would download it.
I am just trying to figure out the best way to do this, without compromising the security of your PC.
My friend would need to know my current IP, which seems to change every time I start the PC and connect to the ISP.
It should be easy to find out current IPs, just by looking at the
Quick Links > Who is online and it is the last column IP Address.
If anybody has done this before, I would like to have some tips on how to go about it.

Im not sure that I quite get what your asking here, but....

The trial version of logmein will allow you to transfer files.

Personally, I prefer TeamViewer. It will allow you to transfer files and is free for non commercial use.

The reason this takes ages is probably because your connection is most likely ADSL, meaning that your upload speeds are a lot slower than downloads. No matter how you transfer the file, you will always have that limit in speed.
