We've got a dedicated sub-forum for the Dr.HD series of receivers - I'll move your question there and you'll be able to navigate to other related Topics in there to see if the answer lies therein! ;)

Edit: Moved

Alexey will take good care of you and shipping is really fast.

Thanks for the info guys ( although it wasn't specifically for me! ) I've been meaning to get one of these receivers for quite a while and finally took the plunge!
Parcel is en route and tracking operational :D Looking forward to it's arrival so that I can have a play. Unfortunately guys there are bound to be some questions!

Package has arrived, the receiver is smaller than I expected. Just have to set it up and start playing, that's when the questions will start! Thankfully for you guys that will have to wait until the weekend because I need a euro plug adapter. :(

Just chop the € plug off and wire a normal UK plug onto it.

Or just push the top of the socket ( ground ) insert with a screwdriver / key and just push the plug in , at least temporarily . Works for me .

That's a bit naughty. ;)

I agree with Analoguesat, just cut it off and wire a proper UK plug to it, it'll be a lot safer and cheaper than an adaptor although I appreciate you probably want to test it first before modifying it.

Er.... I follow the "shove the 2-pin plug into a 3-pin socket" practice :-doh

So do I as a last resort... but I have damaged a socket doing that (making unreliable contact for UK plugs later on which I suppose could cause arcing in the socket and mess up the equipment plugged into it). I now have a couple of Schuko sockets installed in the house and a bunch of euro extension leads with UK plugs on the other end.

Shoving a European two-pin plug into a UK three-pin socket is asking for trouble, especially on a ring mains, as the only fuse protection you'll have is at the distribution board, and a 30 amp fuse is nearly as good as useless, so surges in current that would normally blow the fuse in a UK plug will blow the fuse in the receiver instead - at least. I'd recommend nearly every electronic appliance that uses less than 400-500 watts to have a 3 amp fuse in the plug, 13 amps doesn't give much protection either. If it's below 100-150 watts I'd actually go for a 1 amp fuse if you can get your hands on some.

Until you can fit a UK plug on to it, if you have an electric shaver adaptor plug you can usually use that on a temporary basis - they are usually fused with 1-3 amp fuses and don't cost very much (the last one I got was £1.50).

Edit: The adaptor shown above in mickha's post is also a good suggestion, provided they meet BS specifications they can be openly sold and used in the UK. I remember a few years ago getting an Amstrad DVD player designed for the Italian market sold in Dixons with such an adaptor already fitted, as well as a HP printer more recently. Only disadvantage with them is that they can make the plug quite bulky.

That's what I got :) Sooner use one of those to check it all works before I cut the plug off! Definitely not the screwdriver on the socket fascia, it buggers up the shutters inside :( and it won't be protected by a fuse!

I have 2 pin plugs on a lot of things and had them a long time , i'm talking 5 years + , nothing ever happened .

Next we will have to call an electrical engineer with an NVQ2 , CAI member , Checkatrade verified and god knows what just to change a bulb .

each to their own i guess .

We all tend to do things our own preferred way, there's nothing wrong with that. ;) The majority of the time you won't have any problems, it's when things do go wrong nowadays that the proverbial can hit the fan.
Electrical fires caused by faulty, bodged or temporary connections have been known to halt an insurance claim! It's the possibility of having a problem with a claim that would concern me, insurance companies nowadays only need the slightest excuse to reject a claim. :(
