Vipersan I see did you have the dr.hd f15.I have vantage vt1 azbox premium +plus openbox s9 vantage 1100hd now I like to buy one more receiver did you like the f15 did play ac3 audio.I see the f16 and f15 but I don't think I need the f16 because the vantage azbox do the extra things the f16 do.Tellme samething about the f15 did have one good secanner.I leave in canada.
 
There are audio decoding and rendering issues on a handful of channels that use a specific version of AAC on the broadcast.
Generally though the F15 outperforms every other box I'm aware of in one important aspect ..
Gain on fringe channels.
This is the reason I rave about the F15..
It is not perfect ..but if you are a fta DXer its the box of choice ..
For other apps such as CS and addons other boxes are better.
So ..as part of a rounded system ..imo ..its a must have ...but for other users who just want to watch TV ...maybe an unnessasary purchase.

I like the receiver butt the resolution only for Pal no good for north america

Output is configurable to NTSC ..So presumably it will accomodate the different aspect ratios as well.

Ive heard that the Technomate 5402 is good for fringe reception. Stil undecided between FD15 and the Technomate.

If you look in the Dr.HD section of the forum there are some discussions in there about the TM vs Dr.HD boxes. Just waiting for someone to do some comparisons or for me to find some more money and do it myself...
 
Nice response. Ill check that forum and decide soon at the moment its a toss up.
 
ok I have the vt1 and 1100 vantages and are good for fringe reception to but the f15 are the best from I see and read .My next buy the f15.
