The predator files which we update the dragon cam with contain a series of keys. The keys decrypt the channels. I don't think you will gain anything more than the predator files offer even if keys were available.

i have just received my dragon CAM today and inserted it into the receiver. Nothing seems to happen, and i am not getting any channels that I didn't get before. Is there something else I should do or have i missed the point of having a dragon CAM?

Hi wellsy,
have you loaded Predator 321 on your Dragon Cam? The Cam usually is sent with a loader card, either a Fun 7 or a PIC, which needs to be programmed and then used to update the Dragon Cams firmware. Instructions for this can be found in the Predator folder in the howto file. Please post back if you experience any problems, and please follow the instructions carefully as failure to do so can damage your cam.
Best wishes

Hi Mickha.
I think I misunderstood what it would do to be honest. I thought I just had to insert it into the receiver and hey presto, loads of free channels. but obviously not. I have ordered an infinity USB programmer, which i assume I need? Presumeably then I will be able to program the loader card?

Iain

Where will I get the downloads I need? and what are they. Perhaps I am to dull to do this?

Hi wellsy,
programming the Dragon is straight forward and all the software is available from many sites inc:

If you have any problems please post back and you'll get all the help you need, but you'll be surprised how easy it is.

I made exactly the same mistake and panicked a bit when I found out you had to start programming cards etc. However follow the instructions on the sites mentioned and it really is very easy with the infinity programmer

Mickha, Thanks for your help. Sorry to ask more questions but, here goes.

I have set up my infinity Pheonix. I think I have done it right. I have then tried to download the Dragon card loader via the ucass web site. I have followed the instructions ( I think) but when I get to the point of running dragonload.exe it will not connect. The message reads. unable to connect, check settings, programmer and card.

Any ideas. both blue and pink lights are on, on the infinity programmer.

Be gald if anyone can help. It must be something simple.

Oh, and do I need to down load predator 321 as well, should I do that first or second or doesn't it matter?

iain

Hi wellsy,
can you please tell me what kind of loader card you have, is it a Fun 7 or a PIC card, you can find this out by looking at what it has written on it.
With the new software for the Infinity you no longer need to program the PIC card in Phoenix mode 6mhz, although you still can do, the Fun 7 card is programmed in normal mode as a Prussian card 5.
When you post back with this information I will post full details on how to load your card and update your dragons firmware.
Best wishes
Mickha

The latest software for your programmer is 1.50, you can download this software from:

That should be easy to answer shouldn't it? I don't think it's a FUN card, so it must be a PIC card. It is mainly orange, with a picture of a dragon and a man with a stick, and the word DRAGON at the top. At the bottom is the word loader card./ I have already downloaded the latest version of infinity. Thanks.

Hi wellsy,
If it's a PIC loader card there are 2 methods of programming it with the Infinity/Phoenix USB:
Method 1
1. Download, and unzip, Predator 3.21
_http://www.ucassupport.nl/dragonsupport/english/Software.htm

_http://www.dragonmodul.com/

_http://www.satellitekinder.com/
2. Download, and open Dragon Cam Patcher Software DCP 09, this checks the validity of the file.
_http://www.ucassupport.nl/dragonsupport/english/Software.htm

To open this you need Winrar, available from:

_http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Download the 3.50 trial version.
If you haven't used winrar before, after opening, highlight it and click on Extract To, and choose Desktop, the easiest. Now open up DCP09 folder and open up DCP.exe.
Ignore the left hand side, this is for more advanced users, just look at where it says Firmware Check, Select Firmwarefile(*.dra). To the right of the flashing cursor you will see a little paper symbol, click on this and navigate to C:, Unzipped, Predator3.21.dra, highlight it and click open. If your Dragon symbol is green, the file is good, if it turns red do not load the file, it will probably fake and could damage your Cam.

3. Start up your Infinity programmer, in normal mode, stick in your loader card, chip face down, click on the arrow on the drop down box and choose DragonloaderCard (PIC). If this option is not available let your programmer auto-detect your card, or click the symbol before Phoenix. It should have selected DragonloaderCard (PIC).
4. Click on the folder icon, next to Ext EEprom, and navigate to C:, Unzipped, Predator3.21.dra, choose option 2 reverse span.
5. click write

Method 2.

1.Download, and unzip, Predator 3.21
_http://www.ucassupport.nl/dragonsupport/english/Software.htm
2. Download, and open Dragon Cam Patcher Software DCP 09, this checks the validity of the file.
_http://www.ucassupport.nl/dragonsupport/english/Software.htm

To open this you need Winrar, available from:

_http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Download the 3.50 trial version.

If your Dragon symbol is green, the file is good, if it turns red do not load the file, it will probably fake and could damage your Cam.

3. Start up your Infinity programmer, click Phoenix, choose Phoenix and 6.00 Mhz and click enable, this will put your programmer into your system tray.
4. Stick in your loader card, chip face down.
5. Download, and open, Dragon Cam Loader, you may also need the LOAD2MB file, the first time you program the card.
_http://www.ucassupport.nl/dragonsupport/english/Software.htm
6. Check the settings of Dragon Loader, to ensure it matches your computers COM port, usually Com 1, but occasionally Com 2.
7. Click Connect, if it doesn't connect check try the othe Com port setting or check your card is fully inserted into your programmer.
8. In the file open dialog that appears, select the firmware you want to load, C:, Unzipped, Predator3.21.dra. you may also require the LOAD2MB file, if it asks you for it.

Once your card is written you must follow the next set of instructions correctly to avoid damaging your Cam, print them out if required:

Make sure your receiver is tuned to a FTA (Free to Air, not scrambled) channel, I use BBC world, turn off your receiver.

Insert the programmed card into the Dragon module, chip face up. Insert this into your receiver and turn on the receiver.

If your cam is already in your receiver, which it usually is, tune to a FTA channel, like BBC world.
Turn off your receiver, insert loader card chip face up, and turn on your receiver.

Go to the Common interface menu on the receiver, and select the "Dragon Loader" module.
In the next menu, select "yes, Load module".

Now a menu appears indicating that loading is in progress. To see the actual progress percentage, select "refresh". There is no auto-refresh because some receivers had problems with that....

When loading is complete, a menu appears saying "Loading successful". REMOVE the loader card from the module, and switch off and turn back on the receiver.

I hope this helps.

Best wishes

Hi wellsy,
the instructions above are for programming a PIC card with the Infinity programmer, there are 2 methods you can use.
Just follow the instructions above, whichever method you prefer, and you should have no problems.
It is easier than it looks and once you've done it you'll find it quite easy. If you experience any problems please post back.

No, not yet. To be honest, It all seems far to complicated. Pity someone doesn't live close by and could come over and show me what to do. I might just sell it and forget I ever bothered.
