Dream a stream remotely???

Hi guys still finding out more and more ways to mess with this box lately, but recently i have decided to look into accessing my dm500s from another location, i have followed guides in here and set up dydns and also forwarded ports to router (80&21) all seemed successful able to connect to interface from other network, streaming tv is something i cant do though?? im using darkstar 2 image and never actually managed to get vlc player to work from interface on my home network, used a dream player program.. any way of doing this on a different network? thanks guys.

On your home network, click the VLC button on the web interface, then open the downloaded file in VLC.

You wont be able to do this from a remote location. You wont have nearly enough bandwidth for this. You'd need to 1st compress the stream on your PC, then send it out over the net.

thanks for reply prob is i have never got vlc player to work on home network either. i use a tunisa sat dream box program which was only way i could do it and was wondering could i use a program like that on different network.
