Hi,

I have a valid viaccess card to watch an african channel. At present I have 3 dm500s boxes and the card works perfectly on one - which is just a matter of slotting the card in and it reads the card and show the channels. No for some unknown reason this is not happening on the other two boxes and when I press the info button I get this message.

cccam smartcard information
welcome to the ccam information client
card reader dev/sc10
no or unknown card inserted

I have tried almost everything and almost resigned to the fact that it's down to how the dm500 is built. Does any one have any ideas on how to fix this? I know with nds card - skyuk a boxkey has to be generated first but with viaccess cards it's always been plug & play form me until I got these two boxes.

PS I have also tried the cards on five other dm500s boxes at the dealer shop and get the same error.

Please help

With all due respect your lengthy post does not mention which images are being used on each box. Perhaps the one it does work on has a different image, without such information I doubt anyone could diagnose your problem.

Well I am not a DM owner so it is no good me guessing........ but what configuration comparisons have you made between them all?

They basically have the same configuration. I was hoping that someone with Dreambox expertise can help but thanks.

With my sky white card (nds) I had to configure my cccam for the dreambox to recognise the card - entitlements.

For Viaccess which is basically has a simplier code settings usually no ccam config settings is necessary - The card is recognise as soon as it slots into the dreambox. Some how these boxes are not reading the card.

Many Thanks

for your dreambox to read viaccess Card you need to put this lines in your CCam.cfg:

#SERIAL READER: /dev/sci0
SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY: /dev/sci0 5600000
TRY ALL CHIDS : /dev/sci0
B: /dev/sci0 00
now it will work

Hi tried that but no luck - guess it's these specific boxes which are probably poorly built? Do you know any more lines I can put in my cccam config?
