Hi,

I flashed mine a couple of weeks ago with Gemini 3.30, image seems very stable and has loads of features which are not on the original image.

I flashed mine using a null modem cable with my laptop running windows ME.
If i remember right the DreamUp software automatically recognized the port my Dreambox was connected to, I hit connect and that was it. The first thing I did was make a backup of the original image which took about 9 minutes and then flash erased the original image and then flashed with Gemini which again only took around 9 minutes.

I use “Dreambox Control Centre” to update files on the Dreambox using a network cable via my Linksys router (FTP). And I use “Dream Box Edit” to add/manage channels etc.

I was really worried when I read the guides about flashing and connecting to a network etc, it seemed really hard when reading it all but when you do it yourself its nothing. I found this guide the best to understand:

http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/DigiTV/dbox-howto.htm

Good luck
:)

HI Newgen

Thanks for your replay, that will give me more accurate idea on why I have that problem.
if it was as simple as 1-2 -3 to connect the dreambox ,them the only explenation is that the com port is foulty .
I will have that replaced tommorow and then I will join the fun my self to ;)

thanks again
realy aprecciated
