[FONT=&quot]I currently have my DB 500s connected to my 42” LCD using a scart lead (for quality). I like to record the odd problem with my DVD recorder, the problem is when I connect the phono cables to the DVD recorder the picture is a lot darker that what it is through the scart, when I unplug the scart from the back of the DB the picture reverts back to normal brightness?. Ideally I would like to get connecter of some sort that will allow me to use the one scart socket on the back of the DB to connect the LCD & the DVD recorder. Has anyone got any idea’s.[/FONT]
 
As you've found out, you can only use one visual connection at a time e.g. scart OR composite.

Is there no loop through on your DVD recorder? e.g. scart from 500s to DVD, and scart from DVD to TV (or whichever connection you have)?

I could loop it through the DVD recorder but I would prefer for quailty reasons to have a direct connention to the 42" LCD due to its size. Plus you would always need to have the DVD recorder on even when you not recording.
 
Unless your TV has an OUT connection to the DVD the only other option is to record to a PC hard drive. Does your DVD not pass through even in standby?

I have just got home from work and tried it, good idea the Dreambox does loop through the DVD recorder without it being on.
