Dreambox 500s clone supporter

I have had my dreambox 500s clone now for the best part of 4 months. I have read loads of stuff on it before and after purchasing. I must say that i have come across a lot of negative comments about the clone and just wanted to put my two cents worth in. I think it's a excellent box..I have managed to mount it to the hard drive of my pc which is located downstairs. I can stream mp3's, i have made a bouquet of these and with the built in player i can shuffle/random play, i can record from the dreambox to the hard drive of the pc, and i can also stream avi/dvd and other formats from the hard drive to the dreambox (with vlc) . i have put picons on the image which is a nice touch to the osd. I have mounted the epg to the hard drive and i can now use this to choose a programe and click one button and will set the timer to record..easy as pie rather like s *y plus. Ok here's the slightly negative part. Yes like others i have had my problems along the way..a bit of frustration here and there..this hasn't been down to the dreambox, more so with images and getting things to work properly i.e streaming. I found a image which seems to work with everything i want to do (openpli)..I was using plijade 3 but had compatibilty issues. I would have no hesitation in recommending one of these boxes..if you want a box just to watch tv like a standard receiver then this is a good box and easy to set up for this..but if you want it to do more (like the above) then be prepared to read lots and have a bit of frustration along the way..but like i.you will get there in the end. Maybe i have been lucky with mine, i dont know but at the end of the day i am very glad i bought the box as it had been fun playing around with it.
