I just use a simple y splitter, although a properly amplified splitter will be installed at some point.

Use a RF modulator to give you the RF output you are looking for.

Don't get a cheap Εbay one though, get a decent one like the Mаplin version.

Looks like the modulator doesn't get the audio input signals or your remote TV is not setup correctly on the VHF/UHF channel.
Did you use the SCART input or the 3 RCA Inputs on the modulator?
I would start by checking the cables.

Maybe the sound offset of 5.5MHz (PAL B/G) which I believe is used in Cyprus isn't that which the Maximum modulator is set for (Pal I 6MHz or possibly PAL D,K, L 6.5MHz?)

A check on this site gives the sound offset for the modulator as 6.5MHz -

In which case maybe your TV's PAL standard can be changed?
