Hi guys, hope someone can help. I've got a sky + box installed by sky with subscription in the living room. I want to setup my dreambox 500s in the bedroom to pick up free to air channels. When I plug it in downstairs to a cable installed by sky I get SNR 92%, AGC 91%, BER 0% and a perfect picture. When I hook it up to the cable I installed in the quad LNB I get SNR 55%, AGC 0%, BER 0% and no picture. The cable I used was a satellite cable purchased from B&Q so I don't think that's the problem. Any help would be great as I'm tearing my hair out here!

Firstly are you sure you have not got a strand of braid contacting the central core?
Have you made the terminations correctly with enough central core protruding?
Have you tried the 4th outlet on the quad?
What length of cable did you purchase and is it foil wrapped?

Thanks for the reply, I have tried all ports on the quad with similar results. The cable I bought is a 10m F plug to F plug satellite lead which is "ideal for connecting satellite receivers to LNBs or satellite wall outlets" according to the packaging. Is it possible Sky are blocking the signal somehow?
