dreambox 800 optical sound

hi i have just purchased a samsung ht-c555 surround sound system and i have a deambox 800 hd, i have tried to connect the digital audio and get no sound at all, i have tried everything and cant find the answer. i connected the digital optical cable to the back of the dream box (pushed it in hard) then connected the other end my surround sound unit, then selected the right channel. is there anything else i need to do to recive audio.. thanks.

Perhaps you have to turn to 'ON' the AC3 default in your A/V Settings and if a program is transmitted in Dolby Digital the Dreambox Switches automatically to this Audio track.

There is nowhere near enough information to give advice.
I would guess the problem is in the configuration of the amplifier and not the dreambox. You need to configure the amplifier to use whichever video input you are using to combine the optical audio input. The best place to get advice on configuring the amp will be avforums.
