you guys obviously haven't been around the sat scene very long.ive had a motorised dish for over 20yrs and back in the late 80's and 90's this price for a top end reciever was the norm.
i remember paying about £800 for my echostar 8700 and i always wanted a chaparral monterey and if that came with all the addon's it totalled over £1200,but i could never afford one.
for a decent sat system back then you couldn't expect any change out of £1500.
you guys that have come into the sat scene after the digital age have been spoilt with cheep recievers.
im not saying that the DM8000's price is right im just saying that considering everything that it does,its still only the same price as a top end reciever from 20yrs ago.think about this before writing off buying one.ian.
