dreambox 800hd fault

bought this item from china for my sons xmas present £240
recieved last week scanned in all channels
go to hd channels get message tuner failed
even tried on mates system no joy
contacted seller was to to post back to china
at £30 plus cost to me
any help much appreciated

this is a common problem with China clone - i have almost the same problem -
the problem that the reseller dont promise to fix problem - my reseller told me that he dont know about such a problem (i dont believe him!!!).

i order parts and hope to fix it myself like instruct in the link i send you.

If you're not willing to send it back it might be worth buying a new tuner. You'll get one for around £40.

Before you send the box back, select the HD channel that causes the 'tune failed' message and try doing a transponder scan. make sure the transponder freq, sym rate and fec are correct and change the tuner option to s2.

hi jimdefruit please can you explain more because i have also the same problem and i have sent back just the tuner from the dm800 and also bought another tuner but still getting the same problem

rio, if you are having a problem with a channel where a screen message says 'tuner failed' then I suggest you look up the transponder info on Lyngsat and then do a transponder scan on that frequency. If you are not sure how to do a transponder scan then you must read the manual.

It would appear that there are some settings files that give incomplete or incorrect transponder info.

before you do anything I suggest you update to the latest Nabilo patched for clone firmware it will have the latest drivers required (if you haven't already done this,but be careful and only use the one intended for your bootload version).. Also invest in a Satellite inline signal booster..I had the exact same issue and thanks to advice on one of the other forums I was able to overcome it using the booster and the latest nabilo..
